		<description>Goint to an Asado tomorrow.  I recall having squash along with all the meats.  Anyone know how to prepare/cook it with the Asado?

But the same is true the world over. I&#039;ve lived and traveled around the world and can say that 95% of the &quot;American&quot; food you find out there is poorly conceived, misunderstood, and poorly prepared.</description>

In the UK there are a few big chains of pub type restaurants serving a poor version of grilled meats and I couldn&#039;t believe it when I ordered chimmichurri as a side dip, only to find it was a bowl of oil with a bit of parsley, maybe some oregano and garlic, as runny as the oil itself.  I was disgusted, it shouldn&#039;t be allowed!!!</description>

Argentina has long benefitted from its distance from the US, which has helped preserve its cuisine and traditions. That same distance has made it so that it is only recently that Argentine cooking is starting to come into the mainstream in the US.

Speaking as someone who has lived in Mexico for most of his life, I&#039;m appalled at what passes for Mexican food in the US, and the &quot;lowest common denominator&quot; way that &quot;Mexican&quot; cooking has been adopted into the day-to-day cooking culture. It is perhaps inevitable that people will reduce the immense diversity of the cuisine to a few rules of thumb.

Thanks for raising a flag to this sort, and standing on your soapbox to try and defend true Argentine cooking.</description>
