I haven't seen or tried the one from quilmes either, I noticed it when I was searching for a pic of Patagonia beer. You can see some reviews here Anyway, since it's a Quilmes product, I won't bother to try it anyway.

I don’t know if their beers are still imported. Jumbo always had it though.

*adds Antares Imperial Stout and Chimay Blue to the grocery list* I did not really dive into the special beers here yet. So far the only one that strikes me as better than the standards, like Quilmes Heineken and Warsteiner, is cerveza patagonia.(So not the equally named one from Quilmes). I like the bitter German taste. To bad it's way overpriced.

Yeah, I’m always skeptical with anything above that. I had an idea of what I was going to jump into but just wanted to see if they could pull it off. I think Antares Imperial Stout and Chimay Blue, for example, are excellent beers in the 8%-9% range though.

So far I did not have the pleasure of a good tasting beer of above 8% alcohol. Amsterdam Maximator, I think in Holland sold as Grolsch ‘Het Kanon’, contains over 11% alcohol and is therefore not really comparable with the standard pilsener beers. It does give a nice buzz on long cold winter nights though.
